When the United States saw the teams they were drawn against in the first stages of the Brazil World Cup, players and fans alike looked horrified. For any team to be put against the strength and the class of European Giants Germany and Portugal and then the power of Ghana, it is enough for any football fan to think it is not worth unpacking their bags when they fly over to Brazil, but with Jurgen Klinsmann at the helm, all is not lost.
Klinsmann has become a fans favorite since taking over nearly two and a half years ago, and thanks to his clever tactics which have earn the United States national team some great victories, other teams in the Brazil World Cup are being warned by their managers to be very wary of the United States.
Ghana eliminated the U.S. in 2010 in the Round of 16, and in the 2006 group stage which has left head coach of Ghana’s senior national team the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah, warning his players that the United States could become the rank outsiders to go far in the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
Kwesi Appiah has told his players that the United States will be their toughest team to face in the World Cup with the national team being out for revenge. With hunger in their eyes and with previous shocking victories over Mexico and Italy, Kwesi Appiah has a lot to fear and 2014 could be the year that sees Ghana being sent home in the early stages.
Although the national team still need to improve on their footballing skills, learning how to keep hold of the ball, they have something more important than skill, speed and determination. The United States national team do not like to lose, out of all the teams in the 2014 Brazil World Cup, the United States are the most competitiveness which could give them the edge of the likes of Germany and Portugal.
Every time when the American’s have been losing at the early stages of the match with the competing team believing they have a win in the bag, the spirit of the national side comes back and their willing to win allows them to come back onto the pitch and pull the win out of the hat leaving their competitors stunned and wondering how they have managed to fight back.
Although there are fans that are still concerned about making an early exit from the 2014 Brazil World Cup, with Kwesi Appiah warning to his players that the United States are a serious threat and with Klinsmann at the helm and with the players refusing to lie down and be walked all over, fans could be in for a treat and the World Cup could be in for a shock with the American team going all the way.
